- Voting was done publicly on the newsgroup and results were tallied by Lord of Wolves. 100 people voted.
- The event was called "the North American net.goth meet" until immediately before the event.
- Initially Lawrence, KS was on the list of proposed locations as it is in the approximate geographic centre of the US. However it was deemed impractical and did not appear in later versions of the vote. (This concept was later revisited during the bidding for Convergence 10.)
