Despite the many and various political debates which have raged through the cybergeometric halls of alt.gothic since its inception, the most potent controversies faced by its residents have tended to revolve around rather more esoteric things. These include:- Marmite - Is it the very stuff of life, or is it yucky? The nature of vegemite is similarly disputed, though nobody seems to get quite as passionate about it. Pink - Some Uk.people.gothic types have been known to claim that it's the new black, but others prefer, well, black... Toilet Duck - Is it essential to the modern goth lifestyle? The Cabal - A shadowy group that allegedly manipulated the people to ensure that a party took place somewhere every year. Similar to these issues, yet less often broached, is The Forbidden Thread.
