Masochistic Religion consisted of members are Mitchell D. Krol, Mopa Dean, D'errol Flynn, Martine Matthews, Harry Simpson and Julie Seddon Faris. Mitch Krol was the flamboyant front man who provided a promo pic of himself for the Convergence IV programme that featured full frontal nudity.
This was the opening band for the Convergence IV weekend in Toronto,ON in 1998. They started the set by carrying Mitch onstage in a coffin, and he later set a bible on fire during the set. Most people seemed a little taken aback by the over-the-top performance and for the rest of the weekend they were referred to as "The Gothic Gwar".
