002. Q: What is goth?

    A: A post-punk movement. 

003. Q: Is X goth?

    A: It might be, but there are enough definitions that you'll be wrong. 

03A. Q: Is emo goth?

    A: No. There are some stylistic similarities, but the two are distinct. 
       Emo could be argued as a successor to goth, but history and common sense say otherwise. 

3Ai. Q: What is emo?

    A: "Goth minus the fucking"

    A: They felt like it.

    A: They're not.  Someone at some point will have, probably extremely politely, explained to you what you are doing wrong and you didn't listen.  Go look for it
