This is Important, People
- 3 oz really, really good dry gin<ref>Gordon's and Beefeater are not even close to meeting this definition. Start with Bombay Sapphire.</ref>.
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- Ice cubes
- Olives. Cocktail onions may be used instead to make a Gibson.
- Throw ice cubes into cocktail shaker.
- Add vermouth
- Shake vigourously
- Pour off liquid<ref>This leaves the ice cubes coated in vermouth.</ref>.
- Add gin
- Shake vigourously
- Pour into martini glass.
- Add cocktail olive(s).
- Give to Axel for testing.
- Make another for yourself.
